if you could PM me your references number I'd love to find out this info

Very poor communication between ACT & I, but I did receive the clutch back in a week with a resurface and all new internals.

Hope this doesn't happen again, has anyone had the " tabs " removed.... since it wanted to remove itself already?
Can't say that I have had the tabs self remove, but since my install in December 2020 I haven't experienced any issues (yet?). I'll probably drop the transmission this summer after I finish a cross-country drive and take a look.

*knock on wood*, so far no issues with the clutch but only got about 200miles on it. My trans does feel notchy so to switch from RL 75-140 to RL 75-90.

Im in the same boat. About 200 miles so far with no issues so we shall see. Mine felt a bit notchy with RL 75-90 so I switched to Amsoil 75-90 and she shifts like butter now

Bump! About to order this clutch and curious about the release tab breaking issue that many have experienced. Was anyone able to pinpoint the cause of this? In the Exedy twins I've had those break and the clutch still shifts fine. Never knew until I removed it.

I messaged ACT on the live chat and the rep wasnt aware of the problem so I linked him to this thread to see. He got in touch with engineering and is going to forward me their answers. Seems like it's a valid concern even with reputable shops installing them so there goes the "install error" reasoning.

How many miles? And what type of power/driving are you doing with it?

I emailed them about it aswell, never got a response. I have about 100 miles on the clutch currently no issues so far. Haven't really pushed to hard yet tho. I'm curious to see if you you get a response.

Thank you! I’ve had the blue one for 16 years now. I just won the grey one this year in a raffle with only 34k miles on her. My girls had her white Evo 8 for 10 years now as well

I'm super curious about the ones who've had failures and what the clutches life was like. It seems that those tabs wouldn't break under normal city driving just due to function and some type of hard shifting or launching would have to do it.

I drive my car hard, like what most consider hard times 3. So if others are seeing the failures under light duty it makes me think I may as well go Exedy again
