I'm not going to argue quartermaster isn't a better clutch. I mean apples to pineapple in comparison. I was just stating the owner or head enginidiot came from comp. And they are similar in design.

Anyone using 6puk twins with sprung hub ?

What's the drive like on those.

The organic discs are starting to slip on my car, after 1500 miles, few drag days and some hard street driving.
car is 800whp / 560ft torque.

I want to get the rebuild kit for the 6 puks, trying to maintain good driveability and something that will hold the power a bit better.

I'm done with racing this car, so just street driving on the weekends only.

That's odd, I'm on 10k miles with 300 more ft lbs of tq and 450 more HP and mine hasn't slipped with 2 track days on it. 6 Pucks will be really grabby not that it's a bad thing but could be harder to slip. What version of the organic discs did you have being there are a few different versions?

yeah found it strange that it started to wear out so soon. probably done not more than 25 launches on it.
but mine was also part of the early versions that came out, so not sure if maybe thats part of the problem.

I have the T2S-M01 / XT sprung

I have watched the video with Dustin and the XT 6 puk version and he says clutch feel and drive is quite good.
The rebuild kit cost $950 from ACT, vs double that for a new kit.
so really keen on trying the 6 pucks

I was referring to the discs themselves. I know my discs were rated for 825 tq @ the flywheel of course , but I made over 800 ft lbs at the wheels and it still holds good so far.

I have the organic discs at the moment, which as per ACT site is rated for 875 tq.

Seems it and miss with these ACT clutches, some like yourself are having great results while most are not.

Ok so same discs as I have and I wouldn't say I have success with hit I still can't shift very well at 9k. But idk if it's an adjustment or if it's something else .

well considering the power / tq you making i dont think they really designed for that much abuse and especially at 9k rpm.
i have been going to 8200rpm only and they were shifting fine, I never had any lock out issues or other weird stuff happening. just that it started slipping last week.

Thing is what version do you have ? Do you have the original version like I have, or the revisioned one with the redesigned clips? I know that made a difference.

I have the original version.

ACT support desk not very efficient?
Been waiting over a week for shipping rates for a rebuild kit.

Sending reminders and not having any luck.

I wanted so badly for this clutch to be the answer to an Exedy but unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be it.

If I ever try one I'm drilling out the springs on the floater and running the solid hub 6 puck discs right out of the gate

i dont get why people are hating on this clutch. It is actually a very nice clutch and since they changed the cover everything seems to be ok. I mean I have the origional version and it held way over what its rated for and really I have no issues really.

You really are one of the lucky ones, as majority have had bad luck.

When you say they changed the cover ? You referring to the final top cover that holds the pressure plate down ?

ACT are asking for almost $1k for a rebuild kit.
Complete new clutch kit is 1800, wondering if just makes sense to get the new version of it.

Also over 9 days now and can't firm up an order with ACT, no replies.
so rather just buy from STM and get it in a few days.

Then go to exedy. Last time I checked at cost to rebuild a triple being I have family there was 1800. Discs for the act are like 150 each so IDK where your getting that price. You only replace intermediate plates if they are done and need to be replaced.

And just so you know extreme psi sells full rebuild kit plates and all for 600 and some change. Idk where u get your prices from but it's pretty obvious you don't look very well for things you wanna replace. Idk if that's the one you run but took me all of 3 seconds to find.
