Shouldn't matter its a known problem with the clutch itself but I am sure you would have to find out what the build date is and or send them a pic of the damage. I have had mine for idk how long and they sent me a warranty info and mine has like 13k on it.
ACT is going to warranty the floater/clutch. ACT said this issue is happening on the early release where the tension fingers/clips(located on the floater plates) are breaking due to manufacture defects. They mentioned something about the metal grain and stamping orientation not being correct with the tension fingers/clips.
I did notice the tension fingers/clips are wearing into the flywheel. ACT said this is normal for the tension fingers/clips to wear into the flywheel and the floater plate should be rotated on every rebuild until it can't be rotated again. Once the floater can't be rotated anymore, the flywheel needs to be resurfaced or replaced.

Well, I got the clutch installed and now the yellow pressure plate is running on something inside the trans. Also getting a lot of chatter when depressing the clutch. I can feel the rattling through the clutch pedal while depressing the pedal. Going to give act a call on Monday.
I was convinced this is the perfect clutch for me, but after seeing all of the issues in the latter half of this thread, there is no way I am taking the risk. If anyone else relates to this, I would suggest looking here:
It seems like the XClutch twin is what we all hoped the ACT twin would be: streetable organic disks, high torque capacity, minimal chatter, well priced, etc. I just ordered the XKMI23522-2A yesterday.
They change the design. Idk I have the old version with 10k miles with really no issues other then lock out at like 9k
Ahh ok good to know that they change the design. Lock out is the reason I went to Quartermaster from competition twin years ago. Quartermaster shift great at 9k but the noise of this clutch is bad. I might try act twin whenever its time to remove quartermaster.

You know those 2 clutches are basically identical right? I don't mind the act really it's not bad to drive but who knows how much time the organic disc will last on my car. I know they have lasted pretty well with the HP and tq my car made. But coming from a exedy triple to this is nite and day better I can actually skip the clutch and no grunting and groaning from the clutch.

Wait which 2 clutches are basically identical?? I was reading that act twin runs like a stock clutch is that true? Quartermaster in my opinion is horrible on the street, I mean I get used to it to the point that it drives perfect I can be in traffic for hours and it is not a problem but it is not the friendliest clutch heheh. In other hand I can launch as many times I want and it is really tough to end this clutch. The idea for act twin is to have less noise and maybe better drivability plus sprung twin will be easier on transmission and t case during launches than solid one.

Comp and quartermaster. The owner of quartermaster came from comp I believe. I know they are very similar to each other just slight differences.

They might look the same but the are not the same in my opinion. Pressure plate is totally different and drive ability also. I think material on disc's is different also. I killed competition twin in 5k miles launching and racing, my quartermaster made 25k and still holding perfect. Also my gears were locking horribly on competition at hight rpm's and on quartermaster I can shift as fast as I want at 9500rpms
