HTA71 with 2.3 Stroker and FD bad mix?

I remember I use to run an OG green with 2.3 and peak tq was at 3800 but 470 tq which was undrivable some times.

I built another evo but with hta71 wonder how it will be.

This one has cb extemeport intake manifold, 70mm throttle, 5 inch ets core and r2 cams...other car didnt have nice.mods lol

Yes, unless you are doing auto x you are choking the engine. The HTA powerband comes up quickly and then tapers hard. Its a stock turbine wheel I think its too small for even a stock engine. The 4g63 goes well to 8000 and should have a properly sized turbo .

I would use a Red or Black with a 100mm crank. Larger powerband and the engine will live a better life.

i ran a stock evo 8 turbo on my 8 with a 2.3 for a few months and it made full 25psi by around ~3k and fell flat on its face above 5k

it was a laugh but wasnt very practical. I suspect that you would feel the same way

FWIW the end setup on that car (at one point the car had a 3076/evo 8/S200sx) was an HTA green and it was a very fun autox/TT car

on the og green it fell flat around 6500-6800 got longer gearing though

hta71 should spool quicker though

If its over 2:1 for backpressure (more then likely it is) its like running a marathon while breathing thru a straw.

On my stock 2.0 MHI fp red It was at 40psi back pressure at 30psi of boost IIRC. Add a bigger engine and a smaller turbo and the results get much worse.
