I know the subject has been covered in the past many times.

I've used the search function and looked at all of the older threads on the subject but they all seem to pertain to when acd-tuning was still around or these were available through Mitsubishi .

My question is what are people doing these days to fix their evo8/9 ACD pumps? Even eBay didn't seem to have any rebuild kits and none of the shops I've asked offer to rebuild.

 

I was basically in this same situation and gave up. Just been driving mine without the ACD pump for 3 years now. Will eventually buy a non-ACD Xfer case.

 

Damn, was hoping there was something I was missing. From what I saw options right now are to either find a used (working) pump or go non ACD and maybe get an LSD installed in it.

 

I was under impression that there are kits on ebay? Hell I need to start manufacturing the kits again..

 

I was hoping you'd reply! I actually just sent an email to the one you (assuming you) have in the Youtube rebuild video about availability.

You'd 100% have at least one buyer if you were to offer the kit.

Have you also thought about a full on custom pump solution? With these discontinued researching that was going to be the next step for me.

 

the main issue are the valves.. those tend to corrode and break off. I will get some kits made... As for the valves, and custom pump solution... that needs some work... finding alternative valves, etc.. I do like the ACD and AYC systems so I do not plan on having a passive system..

 

There's a British company that sells rebuild kits and a bunch of other cool ACD pump stuff...think it's Evolution Hydraulics.

 

I see I wasn't the only person to give up. I even started a thread back in 2016 looking for just the "solenoid" and not a single reply. I have contacted company's to see if anyone sells just the solenoid by itself but no luck. I have also been just driving without the acd pump but for 5 years now. I have a rebuild kit I bought 6-7 years ago but no point if I cant find a solenoid to install on the pump....

 

There's some Russian dudes that MIGHT have solenoids, check Ebay daily as they raid the part from wrecks. Also, those Brits rebuild the solenoid with a stainless plunger thing.

I just sent an email hoping they would sell just the solenoid only, if not then I'll just have to possibly built a rebuild pump at some point.
