Non ACD Diff help

Hi

I have 2 non ACD transfer boxes I sourced from USA. I have opened both up and 1 diff has GT stamped into the diff with green markings, the other does not have anything. Does anyone know what that means?

Many thanks
Darren

Thanks, both came from Evo 8’s for sure. Both are identical apart from the markings too which is why I wondered what the markings are for?

You could check and see if either has the lsd or open diff.

Doesn't every ACD T-case have LSD?

EDIT. I miss-read the OP post. They are non ACD diffs.

It seems they did a lot of cost-cutting when they first brought the evo to our market. I bet the bean counters got burned with all the transfer case replacements under warranty from spider gears exploding.

Hah didn't even know about that. Did Subaru creep through peoples social media trying to void their warranties too?

Thanks guys! Was there a lot of issues with the non ACD transfer boxes vs ACD transfer boxes?

I've moved from ACD to non ACD so I could scrap the pump off, you cant get new pumps or replacement solenoids etc and the evo x pumps are worse than the older ones! Was easier just to loose it all completely!

Cars only at 613bhp

The problem is with the open differential. It can blow up at stock power levels. If I'm not mistaken, it was the shock of wheel hop during launching that caused this. They can easily be upgraded though.

Ahh ok, the ACD transfer boxes also **** themselves when launching just as bad! Know anything about the markings on the 2 diffs? The markings aren't on the casings but on the diffs themselves. I really can't understand the difference? Both are identical!

Sorry no idea on the differential markings. Are they open or LSD? You could try contacting one of the rebuilders in the US (TRE, sheptrans etc..) and see if they know what the difference is.
