Turbo Lag / Engine Check Light
Hello Everyone !
I recently got an Evo 4 which i am using it as a daily. Loving the feel/ power of the car so far.
A strange issue which i have been encountering is , "Sometimes when giving the car some boost , engine check light comes on and i feel some sort of turbo lag (i am on stock turbo/ boost) . Now as soon as i give it some boost , and the hear the Blow off valve do its work and release the air. The check lights goes away and the car comes back to normal . In a single drive this happens like 3-4 times , and its very very annoying"
Now whenever i take the car to the diagnostics guy , the ecu light is never there and we are unable to encounter the code that is the issue behind it. The car has a stock bov from an Air Trek (should i change my bov ? )
Has anyone else faced this issue before ? if anyone can shed some light on this and help me out here i`ll be v v greatfull .

Udpate :
I just had a chat with the previous owner, he said that try to use a Re-circulator valve from an evo 7 or 8 and this issue will be solved. He also said that you cant install an after market BOV in their since the car is AFM based ??

VTA bypass valves make MAF cars run like crap, yes.
if the car is tuned, maybe you were seeing counts of knock? If it was a legit CEL situation, a code reader would show it.

The car is not tuned. Its running stock. I`ll be visiting my mechanic in a few days in order to get it checked with the code reader. Would you recommend that i change my re-circulatory valve with something else ? may be branded bov or something ?
Any that recirculates will work, though OEM would be better than anything else you can put on there.
