help with service engine light
ok, so i was driving home from frisco.. and my service engine soon light came on.. anyone know what it can be from??? i've had the turbo on for about a month now.. runs perfectly.. the car still runs perfectly with that light still on.. but i wanna know if there's anything that might have tripped that... the oil is fine.. i checked it twice and its on the full line when the car is warmed up ehh.. i forgot to check the bolts and the hoses and stuff last week so im going to check that tomorrow.. but anyone know why the light may have turned on?? oh and i got gas at a place thats different from the gas station i usually get from.. of course 91.. i dont know if that's relevant but it happens on my dads suburban.. plz respond with any ideas.. if this has happened to anyone before plz post something.. thanks a lot....

take it to autozone and have them hook it up to the obdii sensor, they can tell u what it is
or if u have a friend with either the auterra dynoscan tool, or pocketlogger for obdii and a palm pilot they can hook up to ur car and tell u/clear it.

or disconnect your battery, and forget about it ;-)
It probably is nothing at all maybe just a bit more fuel added to the engine to throw the light on
happens to my car every 5 minutes after i turn cel off

I am not sure about the lancer but on the eclipse you can do the "key dance" stick your key in the ignition and turn it back in forth to accel. At this point the CEL light will flash in morris code.....you need to cross refernce this with a code book if any one has ones...then again a shop can do this for you also. I drove around with a CEL for 2 months and my car was fine.. I believe mine was from blowing the alternator fuse and then driving 5 miles with out one to get one. I left the batery unplugged overnight and it finaly went away. Are you bypassing ir not using your back o2 sensor? This may be throwing the code..it could really be a number of things. A fualty plug bad or stuck injector, something not firing correctly ect. The best bet is to just go to a shop and have the car tell you what it is. You may be able to make the light go away for a little while but if the car does still see the same error thrown during a few drive cycles the error could come back. If it doesnt come back after leaving the battery unplugged overnight then you are fine.
