Hi all,
New to this forum but not to evos. I have a 98 evo v, fully stock apart from the secondary air system delete. I currently have the oil pan off to inspect the condition of the bearings and crank and wanted some opinions on the condition.
I measured all the clearances with plastigage and it’s 0.0015 across the board with oem torque settings / torque pattern.
The rod bearings have what appears to be some scoring, but running a finger nail across it you can’t feel them. The main bearings have some scoring which you can feel with a finger nail. The crank seems to be good with no hang ups running a nail across the surfaces horizontally. There is one journal that appears to be scored, but running a nail across it you can’t feel anything at all.
Rod 1 Rod 2 Rod 3 Rod 4 Girdle Main with scoring that can’t be felt with nail
Plan is to replace all the bearings with the motor in with ACL bearings, and I wanted to check opinions on the condition of the crankshaft.

I'd bring it to a machine shop for a professional opinion, personally I'd at least get them to polish it and see what comes out. You've got lots to play with on clearance, so there's no harm in it. Anything 0.020" to 0.025" on clearance after is going to be just fine.
Crank should polish up fine. Looks like normal bearing wear for the mileage. May a bit extra because the car probably sat a lot, so it may have had some dry-ish starts.

Spoiler
It seems that the stock crankshaft of your Evo V is generally in decent condition with minimal issues. Have you resolved it? bearings show some scoring but are not noticeable to the touch. Although, If you want to Cleopatra slot game, go to https://bestcasinoplay.ca/online-slots/cleopatra/ website. I am confident that you will enjoy it. It is the number one site that has assisted me in discovering new online slots where I can make money. With that money, I can now easily purchase anything. However, the crank itself seems to be in good shape, with only one journal showing potential scoring that is not perceptible to the touch.
Do you still need help?

Apologies for not replying back yet. I would definitely value any more input.
I still have the oil pan off and debating what to do. I would ideally prefer not to pull the motor at this moment in time, so leaning towards putting in all new bearings and pulling the pan again in 500-1000km.
The car isn’t my daily so it’s not getting a whole lot of miles put on it.
