Rattling noise

Hi. Lately I'm experiencing loud rattling noises coming from front or middle of the car. We tried to localise any loose part under the car and in the engine bay but without success. Friend of mine that fixes drivetrains said that this is very loud noise for any cover to be rattling and he suspect transfer case but he's not sure.

Strangely enough to trigger this rattling noise I must pass ~60 km/h (37 mps) and press accelerator pedal in ~10%. The faster I drive, the louder the sound gets but still it only occurs with pedal pressed in 10%. When I press accelerator pedal harder (more than ~15%) the noise disappears. Also without engaging car into gear I cannot force this noise. It only occurs while driving, specially in 4 or 5 gear.

I made a short video so you can hear what I'm talking about. I know that it's hard to determine the cause from hearing only but any idea would be appreciated

Unfortunately transfer case is damaged... I need to replace gear set. The worst thing is that this item is not available in my country so I need to order it somewhere else Does anyone knows where can I order it? Part number is 3219A002

The uk is a great source for transfer case parts for our cars. Check Ross sport, email wayne at arnside he seems to have good stock. Go on MLR and check classifieds. It's crazy how hard tcase stuff is to find for these cars. Especially non acd 8/9.

Shep trans has a stronger(as advertised) OE replacement, which is also used by TRE. I read it could be a rebranded item from a source in Italy

I heard about Shep Trans. My local shop (4turbo) can order it but I'll need to wait 2 months. I wonder what is this company in Italy that produce them. Any guess?

Yep I already asked 4turbo. They have 50 items on "backorder" but they don't know when they will get them from Japan.. My local dealership told me that they don't sell this parts separately which is strange.

I found them - Brena Gears. ShepTrans (and others) just buy from them and put their sticker for extra 1000 € Unfortunately, individuals cannot buy from them. You have to be a big company.

They were making this stuff since Group B, amazing history behind this brand https://www.brenagears.it/en/racing

The Italian gear set that TRE has is not the same as Shep's stage 2 upgrade.
