Santa came earlier this year 🎅🏻🎁

I paid 1400 $ for upgraded transfer gear set from Brena including shipping. That is less expensive than Mitsubishi one lol.

I asked them about it before ordering. I was surprised because they replied that this is what they do for most companies they are selling stuff to. So they did for me lol. Maybe TRE does it second time 😁

that seems to be the shiny smoothness. I was talking about grinding the edges.

And for what should I grind the edges? 🤔

I think the idea there is the edges crumble eventually and get in between the gears and cause more issues. grinding them off skips all that.
TRE seems to be rounding off the pointy end of the ring also

Thanks. I know someone who deals with transfers and diffs, it's possible they do this too.

Ok so it came out that pinion teeth were eaten (i'll make photo tomorrow). Inside transfer there was black goo everywhere, which probably resulted from grinding the elements. I'm not sure if the oil was good quality or filled properly, because it looked really bad. I found information that proper oil for ACD Transfer box is GL5 spec LS 75w90. Can anyone confirm it? And the part with several clutch discs is lubed by this same oil? Or hydraulic oil from ACD?

I found a guide how to "properly" fill up transfer case:
https://www.jackstransmissions.com/b...t-case-filling

I would like to know your opinion whether this is really necessary

I use SAE90 for the front diff. redline 75w90 too in the past. The LCD locks left-right axles and it needs the previously mentioned gear oil. The ACD is what manages the front-rear power transfer. This is pressurized by hydraulic fluid or ATF

I made some photos. Those teeth get sharpened like razors and most of material was transformed in this strange metallic goo that plugged absolutely everything. I used 6 bottles of solvent to remove it from the case. Is it possible that the wrong oil was used?

I went thru steps described here https://www.jackstransmissions.com/b...t-case-filling and 0.8 quart went inside, not 0.6 as specified on forums. I'm not sure how filling transfer case thru tail housing allows pouring 0.2 more, but it's worth checking.

Anyways, now everything work perfectly and rattling noise has gone! Thanks everyone for help
