Thanks brotha!
English racing ran the standard eagle crank pretty far. Its a good option.

I mean "weak" is relative. I would say up to like 400-450whp stock but i had put in evo 8 rods, pistons (slightly higher compression) and crank when I bought mine (engine had spun bearings). I had in 272s, full 3" exhaust from the downpipe back, changed upper and lower intercooler piping, 1000cc injectors, aeromotive stealth 310 fuel pump and an fp red. Made 454hp and it was running side by side with 500+ evo 7/8/9/10s easy. The only flaw with mine was the RS short ratio box. Not great for highway driving but driving and cornering around mountains or stoplight to stoplight was a dream. The evo 6 gsr shares the same ratios as the evo 8/9. An rs2 or a makinen gearbox is the best of both worlds.

What many ppl don't realize with the 5/6 is the power to weight is critical. Your 450hp evo 9 will be a much different experience from a 450hp evo 5/6.

But to be honest, for me personally, 350-400hp is perfect with these cars.

Hey OP, congrats on the purchase!! Looking forward to some progress updates in the near future, while I eagerly await December.

From my research (if you have a CP9A, might want to also start referencing LancerRegistry) the 5/6 bottom end is probably most comfortable around 350-400 before you start having issues. From personal experience, I find having a lot of power in these lightweight Japanese cars takes away from the dynamics of the driving experience, so I have fairly modest goals to begin with. Autocross, yearly trips to the Appalachian Mountain Range, and enjoying the breeze is my intent. I'd MUCH rather have a dead nuts reliable car, rather than spending $XX,XXX to get smoked by a tardy barista in a Tesla.

FellyBuilt in Canada makes cat-back exhaust for our cars (among a few other parts), as well as Russ Fellows in the UK FYI

Finally arrived today. Dead battery. It's filthy and needs a good cleaning, especially the engine bay. The interior is in great shape

Just have to get the title and registrarion and put it into the montana llc and get insurance. Also garage cleaning.

thanks to everyone for the input.

🔥 🔥 🔥

I've never seen those front side splitters before. Interesting parts from Japan. Nice wheels too.
