Transfer case breather questions.

Hi everyone. I'm putting my transfer case back together after picking up a wavetrac and some bearings. I got a new breather and i have some questions. I have seen videos about these transfer cases being hard to fill with fluid. I had kind of a thought about putting a fitting on the breather plate and running a hose to the engine bay or something and i had the thought to try to blow through the breather. That thing, brand new, takes some serious force to overcome and allow air to pass. Its a one way valve as well. Is this necessary for this one quart transfer case? That seems potentially problematic. Not to mention it seems like its probably why these things are hard to fill. How come when i search about this i dont find a single mention of modifying the breather? Is there any potential down side to removing the resistance or one way valve function to this breather? Any advice or wisdom about this is appreciated.

You just make a thing with a 3/8" pipe fitting to fill it through the drain with a hand pump. Not hard at all.

Pump in a quart, plug it up, take car for a short drive, then take out the FILL plug so the excess can drain out. Plug it up when it slows to a small stream out the fill hole.

Thanks but also not really the point. If the diff holds pressure by the breather being designed to hold that much pressure it can also cause premature failure of the radial seals. Unless there is a reason for it to build pressure that I’m unaware of this seems like a strange design choice.

my oil filler has a stub of silicon hose that i practically jam into the threads. its sealed thats why I can overfill/put 1 quart in there. pressure does not build up, not something I can tell while hand pumping. air can easily escape thru the shaft seals
just ignore that "breather" man
