Blowoff valve or Bypass valve, anyone?

I am currently in the market for an evo and naturally im reading forums and reviews etc. about aftermarket parts. I dont know much about turbos etc. as my previous car was a chevy suburban.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about whether i should use a blowoff valve or a bypass valve because i have been reading a lot about blowoff valves leaking and the process to fix it etc. and of course i love the noise it makes and the attention it gets . Thanks!

The stock works and holds fine for stock boost levels. Some leak, some don't. They are plastic.

A viable upgrade is upgrading to the 1st gen DSM BOV, cheap and effective.

A diverter valve is a valve that recirculates back to the intake (still a blowoff), you're thinking of. Blowoff valves that vent to the atmosphere cause a rich condition in shifts due to the misread from the MAF sensor and can cause poor idle, stalling, etc.
