holding boost =X plz advise

Hello, I'm just wondering about a couple things and never found definite answers to these questions.....1) When people say they're holding boost of whatever solid to redline, are you guys saying the boost gauge hits xxx psi and just stays there and does not move @ all till redline? Even on sensitive gauges like defi's? 2) My boost controller is a blitz spec R, I noticed my boost tapers .1 to .2 bars during it's course to redline.....after spending countless hours trying to pressurize my hardpipings....I could not find any leaks.....but then last night, I was playing with the gains on the boost controller setting and cranked it higher and higher because it seemed like boost was holding better when I did it.....I was able to hold 20 pounds and maybe taper off slightly to 19 pounds on the course to redline. Now for the million dollar question.....is this slight taper normal or is everyone seriously holding 1 boost all the way up? And could it be my mods that's causing a boost taper......blitz spec R ebc, fuel pump, 650 blitz injectors, works valvetrain, works 269 cams, rmr hardpipings, rmr intake, rmr induction pipes, rmr downpipe, rmr catback, UR high flow cat, iridium spark plugs, tuned with dynoflash.

A small amount of taper is normal. What you are experiencing seems right on track with what I've seen.

I seriously doubt you have a leak, or your mods are affecting the way you lose just a smidge of boost up top.

I spike 1.5 then hold 1.4 to 7000, then boost falls after that to 1.3. The turbo just runs out of breath at those rpms.

I really would not sweat it. Everyone has a *slight* taper; you will not be able to really notice it at all, especially with all of the works modifications.

when people claim to hold boost, they are referring to boost not dropping below a set point.. however it may fluctuate above there... ie. boost hitting 16.20 but not dropping below16.0 more or less thats the idea... EBC's are going to fluctuate slightly becasue of the valving used to regulate boost
