Metalic "clank" when backing up
I also believe it's the rear brakes. We don't have a separate drum-type emergency brake, it uses the calipers on the back. I think it's totally normal and I wouldn't worry about it.
I have had the clunk for 20,000 miles. Also have had the pads stick to the rotor noise, which warped my rotors. Word to the wise, do not use the e-brake when parking the car, especially after driving hard or in the rain. Just put it in gear. Have done this and no more problems with the brakes.
Gumpy.
Gumpy.
bump.
I have the same noise in my stock IX. I usually get it when I back-up with my wheel cut to the right. I don't think it's brake related, it sounds like it's right @ the muffler area. I'm dying to know what it is, but haven't had time to chase it down yet.
