EVO Drivetrain fluids
What fluids to use and where can I get them?
From what I hear people are all recommending going with Redline fluids
MT-90 for the manual transaxle
75W90 for the transfer case/rear differential
I was doing a bit of research and found out the MT-90 is not recommended for street use in cold climates. This is what they have to say:
MT-90 - A 75W90 GL-4 gear oil recommended for use in manual transmissions on the track. Provides excellent protection of gears, synchronizers, and bushings at higher temperatures. Not recommended for street use in cold climates.
They offer this as well, but noone seems to be using this:
MTL (manual transmission lube) - a 70W80 GL-4 gear oil for use in manual transmissions on both street and track. Provides excellent protection of gears, synchronizers, and bushings. Shifts well when cold and allows for fast shifts when warm.

As for the transfer case and rear differential I haven't found any problem with using the Redline 75W90, but just have to find a place that sells it.

So Redline is what everyone would suggest then? If so, I'll be ordering some today. But I would also like to know about how much should I pick up. I didn't find any capacities in the service/owners manuals. Granted having some extra around the garage wouldn't be bad, I just wanna make sure I pick up enough of each to get it done.
After much research, I decided to use GM Syncromesh in the tranny. The shifting was so much more smooth after. Happy I went with it. As for the transfer, I wanted to buy something off the shelf and not wait to order and the only fluid I found besides the OEM was Mobil 1 75W90 gear oil which exceeds GL5 ratings. Fully synthetic. Once that went it, the driveline noise was lessened. Rear diff is next.
used the synchromesh in tranny, and neo syn rhd fluid in diff and transfercase...total cost was about $60 for 3 bottles of synchromesh and 2 bottles of neo syn. shifts a bit smoother now, and not as much noise as before.
