I get 20 psi in 5th gear and 18-19 psi in 1-4. They appear to hold all the way but just do not hit the same level in all gears. I have an MBC...

My tapers off a bit (19.5, down to 18 by 6500rev) on hard acels in 1-2 gears. I have a TurboXS MBC. It will hold solid 19.5 in higher gears 3-5. I have researched this with a couple of good DSM mechs and they indicated the MBCs have difficulty keeping up/adjusting with the wastegate actuator in the lower gears, dont ask me why they act differently in the higher gears. EBCs would help compensate as some of the earlier posts indicated. Just my .02

Not to sure why you wouldn't belive it. But my car has no problem running 26psi all the way to redline. If anyone would like to take a ride to verify, stop by boost solutions I will be here. Mods are HKS RS suction kit, HKS bov, 255lph pump, 720cc injectors, turbo back, safc, FJO, and AVCR. Plus a few other things that I am not remembering. Maybe my car is freak or something cause it has always held boost. Or maybe it was cause I broke my car in driving hard and not taking it easy, dunno but my car will with out a doubt hold 26psi to redline. Not falling off a bit even with stock turbo.

you dont need a air/fuel controller to raise boost. you need it so that you can monitor it when your running higher than stock boost. first off, what kind of BOV do you have? if it is stock your bleeding about 9-14lb of boost.. if it is aftermarket you probably have it installed but not lubed up really good.. it is probably sticking just before it shuts all the way..
good luck!!!!

Will you need an aftermarket BOV if you want to increase boost by a boost controller?!

Generally, yes...the stock BOV is shaky above 19 psi...

I have been running the Profec B Spec II with the factory BOV with no problems, could you benefit by a better aftermarket BOV? (Ex.Greddy Type S) Yes, but its not necessary unless your factory unit is leaking. I ran 23 psi with the Profec B SPec II with the stock BOV. No problems on the track or street.
