First a few questions.

which HKS kit? Why not go for a Garrett? They make the turbos for HKS. hks 3037=GT30R hks 3240 similar to GT35R. They are cheaper also!

On the power thing. 3037 is good for 500wbhp, 3240 has bin run upto 800bhp (on Norris Designs car here in the UK).

Chris.

Moses. Can you give us a brake down of the bearings used in each of the turbos. Are they off the shelf or are they hybrids?

Oh yeah, there is a guy on here running a GT40 (!!!!!!) on his Evo.

thanks mate, Chris

I had the gt40- swapped it for a custom agp3052 garrett full bb. It flows 10% more than a 3037 hks an spools better. www.agpturbo.com.

Here is a link to the post for initial tune at 21 pounds: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...highlight=gt40

The turbo is a garrett gt series full dual bb and it is spooling at 1.5 bar by 3700. Still makes power to 8k + and it is $1200 I looked at the hks but the 3052 flows more and spools earlier. The agp is very similar to the33037 but a little more flow and better spool. If you add a sfp manifold for 400 and 200 for the tial wastegate, all you need is the o2 housing, a water cooling line and an oil cooling line for a "kit" that is 2k complete. If you want to get fancy, you still have 3k left over for other mods compared to going with the hks kit.
