Car being stupid

So i had the Cusco twin plate clutch installed a week ago...Broke it in nice, no launches or hard driving at all yet...It was working just dandy until today

When i start off it feels like the front wheels are falling off, something like a wheel hop...Also happens when i shift, i get a slight clunk...Car runs fine, but i feel a slight vibration every so often

So whats up with that? Hope it's nothing serious

I hear that's normal

I hear that if you get a twin or triple plate clutch that it's going to be really rough considering that it is direct engage. About your two front wheels falling off....They only feel like they're going to fall if when the clutch is engaged and you're in gear right? if that's the case....consider the fact that the rotational mass of your twin clutch is a lot heavier. When you're clutch enages....it will enage with no problem...you're front tires are definitely going to get the direct whip of power from your clutch enaging. My .02

check your motor mounts and lower ball joints (most people will disconnect the suspension form here to remove the axles), make sure nothing was installed improperly. also see if they marked the driveshaft and or lined it back up in the same spot, sometimes this will cause a vibration, thought usualy during acceleration and at higher speeds. just look for the obvious

you know your car better than anyone, the vibration might be chatter, and the clunk could just be the shift rods on the tranny, these might be normal might not be, if it was the shift rods, you would have noticed the clunk before, the clutch should not change this.
the tires falling off delama i dont know, wheel hop might be right.

just go over overything that was done. maybe they forgot something (i sure hope not)

Nah, that's not true - my exedy twin felt like stock but with MUCH better engagement properties. The only side effect was the noise almost all twin-plates make, but no negative change in feel.

Sounds like an install issue.

I found the problem...It seems my dealer forgot to put the bolt for the rear motor mount back in, i could probably have a legal field day with this episode...So i'll see when i take it back to them on monday

I highly doubt i could have broken the bolt off for the style of driving i did...Seems it only happens intermittently

yeah maybe he forogt it or maybe he got lazy, that back motor mount can be a pain sometimes. the dealership, most likely will not do much about it (if there is no damage)but give you free services, this is what i would try for. but keep records of this event incase anything related fails and make sure they understand this.

the bolt was not broken off i have never seen this, ive seen motor mounts rip out but not from the bolt breaking, it was install error and dont let em tell you diiferent even with your modifications. im a L1 certified master tech and i use to be a mitsu tech. dont let em bullsh!t you!
