New Clutch record!

I think i set a record for fastest destroyed clutch. I bought my evo may 5th and i had 2 days stick experience prior to that. i didnt burn the clutch at all during daily driving because of the fact that manual in an evo is surprisingly easy to learn so anyway friday may 14th i decided to go to hackettstown track because my friend with his 330 HP WRX (not sti) insisted. and we all know i couldnt let a subaru run w/o the evo tearin it apart so 9 days 1700 miles and 12 runs at the track and i am clutchless. but for my first time at the track i am pretty happy with the 14.353 @ 96.98 i got with hardly any clutch left on my 12th run. (the wrx's best time was 14.58 @94.3 do to a "boost leak") anyway im callin mitsu tomorow and hoping i have a warrantee even tho im sure thatll be gone quick

Haha looks like you will be buying a new clutch my freind. They will look at the flywheel and point out to you all the heat abrasions from the clutch slip and charge your ***. Also they will see the clutch disc damage and laugh at you and tell you to hit the road I am sure of this.

Not for one who beats the living **** out of his car. You my freind are no brother to me People like you are the reasons why guys with real problems that are not releated to driving like a jackass have problems with warentty work.

One: You only ran a 14 with your evo.... do you have a tow on the back....
and I met someone in an red evo at E-town that burned his clutch up @ 600 miles...

You can disagree with his philosophy concerning his clutch, but please keep it civil or this will be the shortest lived thread ..... to go with the clutch.

Thanks.

Most impressive... Can we close this Peejay?

For the record 13k miles with no clutch problems... From my last service, 60k shouldn't be a problem... Anyway to make your car a slushbox?

<--- 45 minutes of stick experience and about 1 hour learning stick on the Evo....a grand total of 2 hours of stick training and my clutch still grabs like a champ at 600 miles. I have no intention of bringing it to the track either....no no no, let me rephrase that, I don't have enough experience under my belt and therefore don't deserve to bring it to the track. Good luck with the warranty though.
