Question MSD Ignition

Which MSD ignition product should I use to handle my ignition?
I was thinking about the MSD DIS II because it removes my rev limiter as well.

thanks!!

Actually the rev limiter is ECU based, so any aftermarket ignition will not have much effect on it..

Keep in mind MOST AFTERMARKET ignition upgrades will damage the stock coils, so expect to have to change the coils too.

HKS has a plug in setup.. I haven't tried to use the MSD DIS-II setup. I was going to do a 1 coil per cylinder setup..

Sorry Pal but the MSD DIS2 does not work on the EVO, it has been tried and it doesnt work. Only 1 that works is the HKS Twin Power DLI2. I have it and works good.

Nope.. Every aftermarket ignition unit gets its trigger signal from the harness, which is the ECU.. therefore the ECU controls the rev limit.. You can lower it with the unit, and use the shift light functions, but it will not remove the stock limiter.

Oh.. and the DIS2 will damage the stock coils.. technically it can be made to work, but you'd have to replace the coilpacks and the harness is not plug and play.

The HKS is the only unit (as said before by someone else) that is known to work at this time. Buschur is working on a complete coil-on-plug setup with a ignition box that is plug and play.. it will be expensive, but is the ultimate setup.

Most of the quickest evo's are still running stock ignition, though I do think upgrading is a good idea, its obviously not necessary in most instances.
