Road///Race Greddy Type-S BOV?

I just got the RRE preset Greddy BOV, and I was playing around with both it and the stock unit, and the piston is MUCH harder to push in on the stock unit... Is this how it should be? I've already installed it, and it doesn't seem to be leaking, but whenever I barely take my foot off of the gas, the valve goes off...is this common?

Sorry, I'm just paranoid that I may be leaking boost. Someone plese help to ease my emotions!

PS...The RRE BOV has about 10-11 threads showing on the adjustment bolt.

The Road///race type-s blow off valve is not preset. It blows off when you barely release the gas because the lower pressure port is connected which aides in the engagement of the valve. Your not leaking boost as the type-s has a harder spring then stock.

So the only concern you should have is compression surge. That usually happened at lower rpms when you release the gas and you hear a fluttering sound. If you do hear this and want to prevent it, soften the spring by turning it counter clockwise. The downside to this is the valve will not make the distinct whistle at higher rpms that we all know and love.

Ahhhh, I see. I was under the impression that it was preset. I haven't heard any new noises down low in the RPM range, but I'll keep my ears perked.

Thanks for the info

Yeah when i bought mine I was under the big misconception that it is preset. When I called them they said they cannot preset them b/c all evos respond differently mod wise.

Greddy Type-S BOV not a perfect fit on EVOs...

I dunno if anyone here noticed, but apparently the Type-S BOV's dump valve is slightly smaller than the stock BOV. I tried tightening it as much as I could, but I'm getting boost leaks. You're probably experiencing the same thing I am.
