I would stick to the 10w 30 because you don't want too run a oil that is too thick that might cause problems with flowing to other parts of the engine. That is unless you are just racing...

Hmm, if Al flashes a couple of these, maybe he could come up with a basic tune for it. Interesting.

Sorry you do not break in new turbos. You bolt them up and beat them to death!(insureing that you have the correct tune) As bolt that mother on go to the Dyno and tune it. There is no need for a 500 mile brake in. Only clutchs need that type of break in period. Did any one break in their AFC or Intake or exhaust for 500 miles?
Keep using the same oil. I ran all my turbos with mobil 1 10w30 I have never had a problem. Where are you taking oil feed line form? See since it is a BB turbo you should insure that the CHRA never sees more than 60 psi of oil pressure. Also I would run a small oil filter 100 micro ( I think earls makes one) to ensure no trash gets into it. The bb turbos have a teflon incerts that hold the bbearings in, if you get trash in them it will just kill it. I have been running these type to turbos now for 3 years. I love them. It is cool to turn off the car and still here the turbo spinning.

lilgsx. you are right however everyone told me and i know that turbos need to be broken in. I remember one fuel tank or something like that. exhaust and AFC dont require braking in as they dont have mechanical parts as turbos and engines. I might be wrong and I hope so so I can go fast on sunday. however, I would like to make sure. what do u guys think do new turbos require brake in?

Turbos don't need to be broken in. If you've got enough friction and parts touching that need to polish (break in) then you've got a broken turbo

The turbo spins anywhere from 20,000 to 200,000 RPMs. They are spun up from the palce making them to 90,000 just to insure they are VRS balance. Have you ever seen a breakin period on the Force Performance pages or Turbonetics? No because there is no breakin period on a turbo.

Inside the tial WG there is a big spring and small spring. in mine there was only the big one i guess. they called me to tell me that i need to add the small one as well. I am one of the first first people to get this kit so some how I am the gunnie pig . However I will get the extra attention from them since i am the first one lol. Anyways, Turbo will be on the car sunday and I guess it does not need a brake in period as some are saying????

Ok I see, keep us posted on the progress BTW, do you know if the kit is available with the red color Tial WG as on some of the pictures on their page? I specifically asked for that in my order but I don't know if that was some special Tial WG they used during testing. Forgot to ask when I was on the phone with them

Az3ar, you don't have to break that turbo in. When I had my WRX, I installed a BB turbo which I did not give more than about a minute until I had that bad boy spinning its fins. I had that sucker in there for about a year and I always drove it like I stole it. No problems and no break in is needed.
