Clutch problem i believe

Hey guys question here for someone who knows a lot about clutches......

i got my act clutch put in about a month ago, first off the guy messed up putting the car back together and ruined my starter and soem other stuff and i had to go to the dealership and have it fixed. anyway, im waiting on some stuff from them in the meantime they said its fine to drive...so when im at a stop and then cut the wheeel and turn, the whole car shutter as if it was stalling and the steering wheel vibrates??? and then once you get to like 5-10 mph it goes away....also when im ripping through the gears.....every shift as i let of the clutch and hit the gas, it slams with a loud bang and it seems to drop the power in between shifts....i think i proved myself right when i went to the track lastnight, i raced a 12.69 vette we went down with as well as a 12.7 STI and beat them both on a highway roll, at the track i ran a 12.99@106.7??? with a 1.74 60ft.....when i have to go throgh the gears im lossing power due to this slamming and dropping of the rpms or whatever the problem is...if anyone has ever seen this let me know, it woudl be apreciated, im printing this out and bringing it the the guy that did the clutch anyway so he knows whats up, thanks!

Do you have the race disc setup or the street disc setup? Our street clutch wouldn't do that at all. Even our most aggressive race clutches don't normally "bang". I would check the mounts, etc to be sure everything is tight. The steering shutter doesn't make sense either unless something is loose. If it a clutch related issue it shouldn't matter if you are going straight or turning. Let me know what you find. Feel free to email me direct if you need further help.

It sounds like one of the mounts was left loose. The steering problem sounds like you have air in the power steering system or maybe its just low in fluid. Good luck!

its the street clutch, im going to the dealer on mon. they are checking all the mounts ect. so do you think the clutch itself is on properly? isnt it imposible for it not to be if the car shifts? so im lead to think it was when he was putting back the car toegether and maybe somehtings not on properly...thanks so much guys..

I would rather not speculate. It's much better to test the car, see the parts, etc. Let me know what they find.

Like someone else said, its sounds like as lose mount somewhere along with an improperly bled steering rack, both of which could easily happen during a clutch install.

BTW..Kevin, I'm lovin the xede you sold me. What a difference.

Sounds good man. I was running 13.2's with only exhaust at 100MPH. Thats with a 1.7 60 ft. time if I recall. I'm courious to see what it will do know also. Never had it on a dyno so I really dont have any baseline #'s to go off of. Hopefully soon though.

Keep in touch and lemme know when you wanna head to the track.
