To restrictor or not restrictor with aftermarket Clutch??
Hey guys, just wanting some opinions and experience with this.
I took the restrictor out of my clutch line with my stock clutch and it felt great. Now since the stock clutch is dead I just put in an RRE 3000 lb. clutch. Now the engagement feels very violent and is like a hair trigger even when shifting, it bangs into gear when you let off the clutch pedal. I know not to just drop it on the launch of course but even between shifts it feels like the clutch just slams the **** out of the drivetrain. I dont want to break any drivetrain parts so do you think I should just put the stock restrictor back in the line? Im hoping that would soften the hit on the drivetrain a little bit. Or will the drivetrain be able to handle it and I shouldnt bother? Anyone have experiece with this? Thanks

Well, i just put the restrictor back in, the car feels much more liveable now as a daily driver, doesnt slam into gears. Im sure this isnt the best for going fast down the 1/4 mile but at least I feel like the car is a little safer now as far as keeping my drivetrain together. If anyone else has something else to share please do, thanks.

Just to update, I took the restrictor back out after my aftermarket clutch slipped on a hard launch. Now that my leg is used to the heavy pressure of the new clutch, the car feels better to me now with it out. The engagement is more precise, and I can modulate the pedal better now to keep it from shocking the drivetrain, whereas before when I had first got the clutch in, I wasnt used to the heavy pedal or quick engagement. So my reccomendation for optimal racing performance would be to remove it, just in case anyone is searching for an answer for the same question I had.
I left my restrictor in for a while with my ACT 2900 lb, once I became used to the newfound pedal pressure I wanted more control over clutch modulation and took it out, absolutely loved it. Only issue I ran into was that I didn't readjust the clutch pedal from how the tech at the dealership adjusted it for the new clutch and I was locked out of 4th gear at the track twice.
