paint thinner is not safe nor is using pure xylene or toulene... there are lubrican'ts in gas which if isn't equally in the booster you will eat up o-rings and booger stuff up
Here's a few solutions to boost your octane. I found the site on Google.
http://www.vtr.org/maintain/gasoline-octane.html
Toluene is the common ingredient in octane boosters, so using pure Toluene mixed with gasoline will have the same ill effects on your motor as an "octane booster". I wouldn't recommend using it all the time. Maybe once or twice for a dyno pull or something should be all right.
Leaded race gas and aviation fuel is very high octane (110-130). Unfortunately, leaded gasoline is corrosive and will damage 02 sensors and will clog catalytic converters. I wouldn't use it on your EVO.
The best thing to do, which sucks, is just deal with the 91 **** gas we've got out west. Unless u want to drop $4 a gallon for 100 octane unleaded race gas at 76.

heres the octane booster.... mix one bottle to a full tank it will give u roughly 93 octane... i've data logged this booster and it will eliminate almost all the detination issues... http://www.midwayautosupply.com/deta...ption.asp?4614
this will bost octane 20 points or 2 pump numbers
there is also a MAX octane booster that does 7 numbers or 70 points, but too much octane isn't good if you don't need it....

Will if you use toulene, use some Marvals Mystery Oil to lubricate your fuel, you can Safely Add Toulene just not soo much, I think if you run 10 Gallons then 2-3 Gallons Of Toulene is fine.
lol. I have 100 octane gas 2 miles away from my house. I mix 3 to 4 G + 8 G of 91 = 93 to 94 cost = $38 Fu$#$. in VA it used to be $19 for 94 gas. oh 100 here in CA of the pump for 5.19 right next to my house as I said above.

100 octane is too much money, touline is too expensive as well... last time i checked it was 10-20 bux a gallon it was a while go so i'm not sure what its current value is but then again remember u ahve to add some lubricant to it as well.. so if u ask me the cheapest way to resolve this problem is o either add one bottle of that octane booster or try and ad partial mixtures of the MAX octane booster from Gunk...
