Good post jcnel. Predictability is a big thing and while the resolution of the sensors from one evo to the next should be the same, the output values will vary. I think that one of these boxes would really shine when tuning a car with a stand alone like EMS since it will eliminate a few variables that complicate tuning (ie electrical noise causing fluctuations in fuel flow etc).

Just to add a bit to what jcnl has posted. didgital systems are sensitive to the rate and magnetude of the signals they process. Grounding needs to provide the reference zero point. The only place this zero point is achieved is at the batt. neg. terminal, any other point will have a different potential with respect to this point. E=IR Thank you Dr. Ohm. Noise can ride on this positive potential. There is science here but results will be application sensitive ie. your results may vary from the rather anecdotal example. Without publishing the tests run on these types of modifications there is no way for consumers to know in advance what benefits the product will produce for them. "You pays your money you takes your chances." Capacitors are excellent noise filters and nothing beats a single common ground point for avoiding ground loops. Oh, I was a lab tech for HP at the Santa Clara Frequency and time division..under senior engineer Ron Hyatt.

kewl...

...and we can just all hope for a little tail-wind every once in awhile. That's good for at least 10whp.

Oh...and add a set of stainless brake lines, some DS2500 ferrodo pads, and finally some hard to find Motul RBF600 before the grounding kit gets purchased.

I went to sun-auto.co.jp and saw the new Hyper hot iznama similar to that showed by Apexi. this is a photo:

This is the USA hyper voltage system type MR or Japan Hot Iznama:

This is the new Apexi ground box:

Notice that the Apexi and HYPER hot Iznama have three more cables conected to them... I would like to know if this cables replace the normal ground cables and where should I conect these cables. Someone here have more information about these new Ground boxes?

i was wondering how the sun hyper voltage system compares the the apexi super ground. if these products do make the car run smoother than i am willing to invest in them but so far i still havent found any clear cut proof that either one will give the benefits that they claim. if someone could please tell me what the difference is between these 2 products.

I hate to post offtopic, but this thread got me thinking of old hardware hacking...

talking about hackers .. if you're interested .. this is a homemade hyper whatever
the Apexi uses a couple of capacitors inline ..

Hey .. if capacitors are that great a help .. wouldn't it be better if I put a 1 farad cap for audio equipement in the car ?!?!?!?

The trick about capacitors is you want something big enough to 1.) give enough 'kick' when the system needs that little extra stored energy and 2.) remains small enough as to not produce an inductive effect. Low inductance high storeage caps really cost a lot of money, but they are well worth it when not wanting to blow out a nice electronics system.

the apexi attaches to the alternator as well as both terminals.

I think we could end the debate if someone with the ability to log voltage would install one of these and get some before and after logs. If it really does stabilize the voltage, then I'd probably end up getting one, regardless of any kind of whp gain.

...anyone? ... Bueller?

I would think that the biggest help would be in maintaining a hot spark by keeping the voltage up, actuate the injectors with predictable timing (lower voltage=longer time to open) and to a lesser extent the fuel pump. The automobile is a very noisy (electrical) environment and I think that the critical sensors are all differential and not ground (chassis) referenced. The common mode noise rejection of the of the ECU inputs should filter out a significant portion of the noise.
