I am also curious as to how much the exhaust note changes with a cam install. I am going HKS 264 for intake and exhaust. Can someone chime in and give any feedback as to how it altered the sound?

Barely louder at idle with slight hint of lumpyness here and there. This is on my car with a tp and pruven axle back. BTW, 264's rock!

On my 98 GSX, I went from stock cams to straight 272s and the exhaust note was noticeably aggressive and louder across all rpms. WOT sounded much better, especially when the wastegate opened up.

I would say it sounds more raspy. It could be different on the EVO though and w/ 264s.

to me it sounds much meaner and deaper somehow.. like there's an extra cylinder in there or something! (272's that is.. i don't know about 264's)...
