The BR kit uses an internal wastegate, we use an external Tial wastegate wich also adds to the price of the kit. Our kit is more expensive, but with it you get a ball bearing turbo (spools quicker), external wastegate (Tial), and beutifully crafted header (form and function), downpipe, and bolt up accessories. Our kit now also comes fully assembled, just bolt on and go!

Why recycle the wastegate? Is that better?

Better? it's not loud and annoying :-) I don't mind the external dump sound but it kills the sound of the motor, and plus the GT35R sounds like a jet engine, you don't want to drown that out! You might get a little more exhaust flow dumping it externally but honestly, it's negligable. I have made a few external dump EVO8 kits upon request. Looking at the kit sitting our test motor just gives me a chubby!

by far the best kit out there!

there's already been 2 x 600whp evo8's come out of this kit.. one is their shop car and the other is a customer who they tuned to 600 all wheel hp!!

for what you get it's far from expensive!

Hey Martin, how long is that manifold warrantied for? Never used a tubular exhaust manifold, but all the talk says they aren't reliable for street cars (all brands, not just yours). I'm not worried about Buschur's cracking.

the thought of martin having a chubby gives me nightmares.

This kit is amazing. riding in and watching this car run surprises me everyday. This car is a supercar.

A thin wall header would be questionable on a street car, but ours is thick wall (.125") stainless. I have the first prototype header on my car and it's thin wall, not one problem and I've put plenty of miles on it. Like I said before, there are many factors that come into play when designing a header against cracking, runner design, welding method, and a proper turbo support. We have almost a years worth of testing into our kit to ensure it meets ours and the customers high quality standards.

Regards,

Martin

Our manifold is DEFINETELY NOT STOCK NOR IS IT IS 1G MANIFOLD.

The manifold we have we built here in house specifically for the EVO and the turbos we want to run on the car. We then sent this prototype out and had it cast from Ni-resist material (very high nickel content for durability). This is a custom cast manifold that you cannot get ANYWHERE else.

There is a huge difference in building a header such as AMS has and our manifold. Our initial expense on building the manifold was HUGE. AMS, while their initial cost to do one is pretty low, the man hours to fit and weld a header together is big. A nicely built header should cost more than a cast manifold, I am sure that is some of the cost difference. The other, if they are offering ball bearing turbos, will add another $500 or so to the kit.

I am hoping to get the money invested in these manifolds back spread over the first 50 units I sell. Those first 50 will net almost no profit. After that we will make a profit on the kits. With a header you are doing one at a time and have to charge accordingly for each one, easy to understand.
