buschur turbo kits compared to ams turbo kits..

i know that ams turbo kits come with the custom manifold, but besides that, what is the difference in turbo kits, and is the extra cost of ams' units attributed to the manifold??
trying to decide whose kit to go with.....i like the gt3071 kit from ams, but not sure why their kit is so much more, (besides manifold), and dont know which turbo works best....

The AMS kit uses a ball bearing turbo w/ water cooling. A Ball bearing turbo cost more money.

the buschur manifold is custom too...it is just cast vs tubular manifold's. but like above, the main difference is the type of turbo they use....buschur is standard bearing and the ams is ball bearing. the benefit too a ball bearing is quicker spool, but believe me...if buschur doesnt feel that it is necessary...than it isnt. alot of peps are going with the buschur it seems. you cant go wrong with either...they are both are great companies...the only BIG difference is the cost. And that is because the manifold cost more to make and the turbo is more expensive.

thats what i figured....i think buschur is using the stock manifold for a "stock like" appearance, and ams is going with the manifold included in the price. didnt know ams was using all ball bearing turbos....

Buschur manifold is a 1G manifold? That is the first time I have heard that. It certainly does look like one...

If it works and is reliable for a daily driver then

Um, no. The 1G manifold is the most restrictive out of the 3 (1G, 2G, Evo). It is a custom-built piece.

Where did that come from? Dont give out information if you dont really know what it is. I have the manifold and yes it is a redesigned cast piece.

The manifold and turbo come as kit(works in conjunction with each other) that runs 2500.00. I have the BR500 kit and I couldnt be any happier so far. Still need some major dyno time which Im getting this coming week.

The ATP kit is the only turbo out that will properly bolt up to the OE manifold... that I'm currently aware of.

The ball bearing option can account for up to $600 extra on the price. I wouldnt think the tubular over cast manifold would account for the other 600, but who knows. Some of the JDM tubular manifolds go for up to 2k.
