The above post I made is hopefully taken the way it was intended, to JUSTIFY the extra cost of AMS's kit over ours, not to any other way. We have a good relationship with these guys and want to keep it that way.

Nice looking kit they have.

Our kit was designed to go as long as any manifold will ever go without a failure, that is why we cast it. My preference. We also wanted to keep a "stealth" appearance with the kit and wanted to re-use the upper stock exhaust manifold heat shield.

We can build our kits with an external wastegate if so desired, it will use an external dump when we do. The only noise is at WOT throttle, at that point I don't think anyone cares if it is loud or not.

Thanks,

David Buschur

I drove the AMS Evo and like Martin said, the GT35R sounds absolutly incredible. I am a huge fan of the way external dumps sound but even I would not want anything taking away from the sound of this turbo. People were almost falling out of car windows at 70 mph looking around for the low flying F-16 when I came up behind them.

The nice thing here is that the two kits are hard to compare as they dont have many similarities. Its all in what the person who is looking to buy them wants. Im sure they will both perform great, its just a matter of if you want to go sleeper or go blinger. With the Buschur kit you can put the manifold cover back on like Dave said and fool any unsuspecting Camaro tool into thinking you havent done **** to the turbo, and with ours anybody that has any degree of a clue about cars at all is gonna know something is up if you pop. And when you do pop your hood, people just sit there and stare at it in aww because IT IS SO PRETTY!

I don't know if it was answered yet but I believe the mainifold, the ballbearing make up a good portion but also they supply a downpipe, and have a tial external wastegate.

The turbo is awesome..managed some 11.7 pump gas runs with 1.6 60 fts. Definately gets a lot of comps when shown around here in Cincy.

i think the AMS kit is very nice indeed. shame they dont stick a nice GT3240 in their line up as well as i think these are the best alround turbos for the EVO. work very well with strockers and 2.0ltrs!

RnR's kits also look very good. Simon Norris has said the mainfolds look very strong and durable! this guy knows what he is on with so if he likes it, it must be good!

thanks Chris.

Our kit now also comes fully assembled, just bolt on and go!

on to the actual topic.......does AMS warrenty their manifolds...that is my only major questions about their kit....you guys remember what happend to Al's HKS kit....the manifold leaked and almost killed him.

not knocking the turbo kit or manifold at all...just wondering if they have any gaurentee on their exaust manifolds...

dont forget to consider the fact that the bR turbo lines all require you to make custome intercooler piping unless you have their intercooler, any possibilities you could also sell the lower intercooler piping with the turbo david, so that we can all just bolt it on without your front mount.

I have the BR Stg 3. I think the biggest issues you're going to have with integrating this kit with the BR pieces are the compressor outlet to intercooler pipe and the downpipe. The flange on the BR downpipe is completely different plus the slip fit design of the BR exhaust means that you'll have to either switch to a custom DP to mate it all up or change out the whole exhaust. I bet AMS could provide a DP with the correct flange for the O2 housing and a slip fit end that could be cut to length to match up with the Catco cat provided by BR.

On another note, is it possible to coat the insides of the tubular header? Would this promote longevity and possibly performance?

We just intalled our kit on a car with a bunch of BR parts on it. Everything fit very well, our kit comes with an intercooler pipe that bolts right up the buschur racing intercooler. Our kit includes a full downpipe that you can adapt to your current cat-back system.

Our manifold is warrantied for 3 years against cracking. The HKS header is thin wall S.S. and the design puts a lot of stress on the tubing from heat expansion. Our's is header walls are twice as thick and the header expands evenly. Our kit also included a support bracket that allows the header to grow outward but supports it vertically. BTW I'm still running our first thin wall prototype on the shop car and it's been perfect (not one crack) since it was first made (early this year). No problems with underhood heat, it's right under the heat vent, it looks really cool since you can see the beautiful runners right through it.
