burp/hesitation/misfire?

hey..

i just got my car back from the body shop, had a dented door replaced. it took the shop over three weeks to finally get the door imported/painted and put on. while it was in the shop it was sitting on an empty tank of 91 gas.
so, i get it back fill up the tank and blow it out a little. later, i notice that while pulling the gears from a lower rpm up to 5k it gets a burst of deep tone farting sounds at the top of the shifts. if i keep the rpms high and run through the gears the sound/problem is not present.. i have had an ocassional backfire while changing gears in the past, but this is totally different.
i changed my plugs, check the wires, and check for oil in the plug wells. everything looks cool..im lost? could it be a coil pack? fuel filter?
i have 17k miles. 255 walbro pump, vishnu 91 flash, straight through exhaust. magnacore wires, colder ngk & denso irridium plugs. (swapped back to the ngks today) same problem..i can drive to work, i just cannot race. what to do?

Could be bad gas. Put in few gallons of race gas and see if if still does it. If so, problem found.

gas would be my answer too, since it's been sitting around for 3 weeks with that same gas. GaS go bad in 2 weeks, if I remember correctly.

You should change your oil and gas as soon as you get your car back from having it sit too long.

i tried the race gas 50/50 mix 91 & 100 0ctane. i then my plugs to new ngks, have yet to change my oil. i will tomorrow along with checking my stock BOV. i boost around 21psi. the sound and hesitation (like a stutter) occurs when i push the gears to around 45k RPM i dont go any further 'cause the stutter worsens. when i drive gradually through 2-4 gear it will climb to aorund 6k without any stutter?

fuel filter? bov? igniton coil? i dont reallty want to leave my car at mitsu. since most of them arent thorough..

**** man.

Changing your oil won't do anything for your problem.

Please do yourself and your wallet a favor. When you are trying to diagnose a problem by switching out parts, do it one part at a time. Change one parameter then take the car for a drive....repeat until the problem goes away.

How did the car feel while running (unleaded hopefully) race gas? Did it feel any different?

Does this hesitation make your check engine light come on?

yes unleaded, 5 gal 30$ at tognottis.
no cel from the hesitation. good news though. i fixed it. after all the ****, it was the gaps were at .27 i changed to point .24 give are a take a half of a point. runs fun, i can boost again! now all i need is MR bov and the gruppe-s carbon heat shield.
next jan plan: exedy clutch (w/ss line) , adj. cam gears free reflash from shiv, and some dyno time. it feels good again to pull to redline. thanks for all your time.
