Also it is not hard to drop the tranny fluid and put the 3 quarts of Penzoil Syncromesh.
Im pretty sure most EVOs do that, mine did, and I also made a post about it, change my tranny fluids, removed restrictor, SS clutch line, adjusts pedal, etc. and nothing fixed it
BUT last week when I hit a little over 9K miles, I notice that the notchyness of the 1-2 & 2-3 shifts improved greatly and I have heard that the EVO is like that.

Straight from my 06 IX non-ssl manual OEM manual transaxle fluid (transmission)
Vehicles with 5M/T
Lubricant: DiaQueen New multi gear oil API classification GL-3
viscosity range: SAE 75W-80
or
Lubricant: Gear Oil API classification GL-4
Viscosity range: SAE 75W-85 or 75W-90
Vehicles with 6M/T
Lubricatn: Diaqueen SUPER MULTI GEAR OIL (GL-4), or exact equivalent
Viscosity Range: 75W-85
I would not try and mix and match fluids or try and buy a cheaper alternative. I would just stick to whatever the manual suggests or any other fluids proven to work by members of evom.net
