Intercoolers that support 500whp

Good evening. I'm curious to know which intercoolers out there are supporting 500whp. I'm finding a ton of intercoolers, but none of them have HP ratings. AMS, ATP, Buschur, and Greddy are the ones that seem to get good reviews.

Second thing is how do you figure out what fits? Do you just guess or are the measuements already out there?

Thanks for the help!

Edit: Is it possible to support 500 whp with 2.5" piping?

a lot will support 500 hp. buschur claims theirs will support 700 hp. theirs is also a pretty easy install. i have heard that the rmr will support over 700 hp, but it was shown in one of the mags a few months ago that there is a 16 or 17 hp loss with the rmr fmic. for the price and quality i'd go with buschur. jason

On my 667whp pass I logged a 2psi pressure drop across my complete intake system. That means the intercooler core, intake plumbing, throttle body, and into the intake manifold. These results are awesome and if I was measuring the delta P across the core along I'd guess it would be around 1psi-1.5psi, and that's at almost 800 crank horsepower!

I was hoping that you would chime into this conversation. Which core and end tank combo were you using for that setup?

Do you anticipate that this IC will stay efficient... say after a autox run?

How about Buschur's new intercooler that fits the OE piping without cutting the undertray? It is the same core that is used in the "700hp" design.

EVO 8 STANDARD INTERCOOLER UPGRADE
This is our new front mount intercooler upgrade for the EVO 8.This kit does NOT require any trimming of the splash shield and can be used with stock lower intercooler plumbing or any other aftermarket companies lower intercooler plumbing as long as it goes to the stock location. It is also compatible with the stock upper intercooler pipe as well. This unit just like our other one still maintains great airflow to the radiator and the intercooler sprayer remains functional.

Don't buy the Greddy V-Spl it's not that much better than stock. I will have the AMS until soon. As you can see my mods in my sig I want the IC to be good for everything including an upgraded turbo. If not AMS get Buschur. I have seen the AMS until many times and everytime I see it I like it more and more.
