Gfb Bov

Having some issues with a Go Fast Bits Stealth fx on a basically stock 2003 EVO VIII.

The vta sound is something like 'pffsssst' 'psssst' 'pssst' 'psst', rather then 'pfffffssssssssst', I'm also a little worried I may be getting compressor surge right before the vta happens (from what I've read it the initial sound before the 'psst''s seems similar to compressor surge).

I have tried adjusting the VTA / recirc in pretty much every position (I was planning on running 60/40 or 70/30 this seems to work for most).

Out the the 11 (I think its 11) turns on the spring tensioner I have tried 100% + / 100 - / and a whole lot of settings inbetween.

All hose clamps are tight, car is stock except for an ecu flash.

Anyone who has experience tinkering w/ VTA BOV's please chime in.

Thanks all,

here's my settings for my works gfb : spring turn it 2 and a half turn starting from the softest to the hardest. for the vent i go with 6 clicks or about when you see the circle 2/3 closed like a half moon. hope this helps you since this setting works for me and doesnt stall.

i havent had any problems with gfb at all.. i personally think this is the finest bov available without a doubt and a perfect match for the evo... if you have an ecu flash, i would imagine you may have to find the perfect setting for the unit again. it should all come out at once. Try turning the unit up to 50/50 and checking then.

Thanks guys

I've tried almost all combos of vta / recirc and spring tension. Basically it seems vta 60% and a reasonable spring tension provide reasonable driveability, but no combo of settings allow the blow off to happen without a hell of a lot of flutter.

I'm at a loss.

Turn in exactly 3 turns and VTA 60 closed 40 open. Flawless on my car. This is my third BOV and its the finest piece ive seen. So spin the cap all the way out and turn it in exactly 3 turns. When it flutters you need a little more tension to stop it. RRR

Same thing I thought, I tried tightening the spring the whole way. Maybe the BOV is defective ?
