Evo X and VTA BOV?

I have seen a lot of tuners changing the bov on the Xs and it seems that most of them are vta or partially recirculated. I have also seen a lot of Japanese modified models with vta bovs. My question is if the X is running a little smoother with a vta or partially recirculating bov than the VIII and IXs??

Agency Power / Vivid Racing Blow off Valve Evo X Review

I posted my review in a different section. But the 100% atmosphere setup works FLAWLESS on my EVO X. I am very happy with the Agency power blowoff valve and its three settings. My buddies Evo 8 did not like VTA, my car has NO problems.

Read the review.

Agency Power / Vivid Racing Blow off Valve Evo X Review

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After driving cross country, I knew the car was not going to be stock for long. So I started ordering parts for the Evo X, The first arrival was from www.Vividracing.com. I ordered a RED Blow off valve to replace my stock unit, as I am planning on raising the boost a few PSI and knew that the Agency Power Blow Off Valve can hold up to 30 PSI safely. My biggest fear with the BOV for the Evo X was how my idle would respond, as the Evo 8 & 9 did not respond well to 100% atmospheric. That is not the case in my car, as it idles fine and runs flawlessly. The install was a piece of cake, everything is provided with this BOV. The best part is how easy it is to change from 100% recirculation like stock, to 50/50, and for those who want that turbo “Whoosh” sound 100% atmospheric. is an option. The blow off valve is designed to be used with several different setups and includes the return line plug. The Agency Power Blow off Valve for the Evo X comes in three different colors, Black, Red, or Silver. I choose red as I wanted to match the plastic engine bay pieces. You can see in the pictures the comparison to stock; it is made with the finest materials and is worth every penny. I feel this BOV will take very well to the upcoming mods that will be added to my Evo X. I have owned other brands of BOV’s and the sound of the Agency Power Evo X blow off Valve is one of the sweetest sounds and quality is second to none. Overall a great addition to the X, and well worth it!

Advantages
Capable of holding upto 30 psi
Color selection
Great sound
Works well with Evo X MAF
Great look under the hood
Disadvantages
Fuel mileage effect (only because you want to step on it more )

I would recommend this blow off valve from Vivid racing and Agency power to any new Evo X owner considering a Blow off valve, because its turn key, and really has an A+ build. You will be impressed.

It would be kind of alright if there was a Japanese turbo car that would run fine with a atmospheric bov. It feels as if Mitsubishi made a car that has an ECU that is basically set up for the bolt on mods that most of the tuner crowd wants to add to their turbo cars. Hmmmmmm

WHAT A NOVEL FREAKIN IDEA!!!

When I sold my IX with a vishnu v400 tune, I returned the exhaust to stock and left the ecu alone. It didn't run as well. The new owner was pleasantly suprised.

I noticed the Agency Power BOV stock # is the exact same for the VIII/IX. So can we assume all BOVs for the VIII/IX will work on the X?

Is it still a Karmen Vortex MAF? Or did mitsu finally grow a brain, admit defeat, and go to hotwire or speed density
