I'm assuming you're still a 2.0l right? If so, the answer is no. I did the same thing a while ago and have had no problems. Just let the engine warm up before driving it hard and you will be fine.

i've never taken a 4g63 apart, so i don't know if it's possible but can you just remove the belt and leave the ballance shaft in.

The motors have two balance shafts...one is run by the timing belt and the other has its own seperate belt...You wouldn't want one balancer in there turning a thousands of rpms...Each shaft is a counter actor of the other...without one you will get harmonic resonation and probably weird oil probs as well. This pic doesn't show the seprate belt set up but it gets the point across...If you remove the belt then you don't have a timing belt in this pic lol

usually increases oil pressure because you are blocking a oil passage. Stubby shaft still requires the pressure, but the dedicated balance shaft driven shaft is just plugged

Been having high oil temp issues despite installing aftermarket oil cooler...was given a suggestion to remove the balancer shaft, to increase pressure and flow of the oil hopefully cooling it better....is this a good idea?

I am not after the gain in power, but the temps of my oil during trackdays

No pro balance shaft responses so here is mine. I have of course removed shafts on many motors. Will never remove them from my own vehicle. The engine will vibrate more without them. It has NOTHING to do with rotating parts being balanced correctly or not. People who post that it will not vibrate with good balance job, have no knowledge on why the balance shafts are there in the first place. The worst part is that you will pick up rattles in the car. Absolutely drives me bananas sitting at traffic lights listening to dash rattles. And I never use harder than stock motor mounts for same reason. I took balance shafts out of my evo1 on the first engine. Picked up dash rattles. Bought brand new factory fresh mounts hoping to cure problem. No it didnt help. Ending up building another short block just to get balance shafts back in.

removing shafts is a race car only mod in my book. just one of many easy to do mistakes that takes the refinement/enjoyment out of your ride.
