Royal Purple For Transfer Case

The only gear oil for the transfer case I've found so far that exactly matches the factory recommended SAE-90 gl-5 is Royal Purple max gear.

The problem is, I've only been able to find it in 5 gallon quantities. Is anyone using this oil, and does anyone know where to get smaller quantities?

Any thoughts on the advantages,if any, of using this over a 75-90 oil?

SAE90 is only sold in 5-gal and 55-gal containers.

Royal Purple is sworn to by a guy i know who races on the pro VW drag circuit. However, their datasheets leave a lot for me to desire, so i don't know if i would be clammoring to get their products.

If it were me I would keep only factory gear lube inthe transfer case and rear diff. you are just asking for problems if you put the wrong kind in and then you will also totally destroy the small chance that you have to get it fixed under warranty. Also alot of the people on here that are blwong transfer cases are using an aftermarket gear lube.....just my 2 cents

Thats true, but all the problems I've seen are due to the use of 75-90 oil. Royal purple makes SAE 90 oil which is exactly what mitsu. reccommends.
