Muffler under 91 db for Laguna Seca?

Laguna Seca has a sound limit of 91 db. Any suggestions for a good muffler to put in? I'll be fitting it to a Buschur 3" exhaust, so I'm not looking for a system, just the muffler.

laguna seca has a 95 db limit so you still have 4 left magnaflow would be good or a borla.not sure if they would just sell a muffler tho.

You'll be fine with any street system. In cases of emergency you just got to learn to lift at the spot where they measure. If you are really worried bring a Super Trapp muffler in your kit bag - just make sure it fits at home before you go to the track.

I haven't seen a 95 db limit it LS in a long time. In the past 4 times I've been there its been 91 or 92. Even if there are days where its 95, I am shooting for the most restrictive measure. We all know the track and the varying db levels. I am asking for specific muffler models. So far I have Magnaflow w/ silencer, borla or super trapp.

Yes, lifting or dropping into 5th gear between turns 5 & 6 is a strategy, but that is a section of the track where you need to be building speed for the uphill run after 6.

Thanks for the feedback - Phil

91 db is going to be hard to get with any striaght through muffler. Are you going to be running a cat?

Works is claiming 90 db with their works muffler, but thats at partial throttle. The only time your going to be part throttle is through most of the turns & going down pit-lane!!!

Good luck trying to get 91 db @ wot. Be prepparred to loose some power.

I have a magnaflow pn 14834, cat & silencer. Let me tell you, this system is not quiet. It's not obnoxious either, but I dont know what magnaflow model your referring to.

Dyno max makes a super turbo, pn 17770. The internal design routes the exhaust in a "Z" shape., 3". This will most certainly kill some power, but wont be nowhere as bad as the stock muffler in performance.

I think the dyno max 17770 would mate up okay with the buschur layout as this muffler is long & wide to accomidate the internal design. You just need to add a tip.

How do they measure your sound level at Laguna Seca? Is it measured while you're revving in neutral or while your driving past a measuring point?

At the Historics last weekend, there were some cars WAAAAAAAAAY over 95 dB (like the 2003 Ferrari F2003-GA, for example, or those old Vette racecars). You should call them on it. BTW, it's $11,000/day to rent the track.
