Talking Best Performance Mods ?

Hey everyone I'm new to the Evo forums and and really interested in getting my self a new EVO and was looking at Vishnu stage upgrades.

In your opinons whats the best company to go with as far as Staged upgrades ?

My budget for Performance is 4-6K.

All feedback would be a big help!

Well any of the high quality 3 in. exhaust, intake, Boost contoller, Lower IC pipes. Fuel management like Safc II, but if you have that kind of money go with the Aem Ems. Cams are also a huge improvement. Bigger front mount. Boost gauge. Better clutch to handle the power. At this point you will be around 350-370 At the wheels depending on how good of a tune you get.

I think there are better tuning systems than the Excede, but there are plenty of guys who are very happy with it. I also think Vishnu is was overpriced. I prefer to piece together a system and then tune it all to work together. I think you can customize a little better that way. Besides some tuners or parts makers make certain pieces better than others and vice versa.

Thumbs up

Hi M3this, I've the Vishnu stage 1+ for about 6K miles. I'm very happy about the upgrade, no problems with fitments on all the parts and driveabily is first rate. The parts cost about 3K. The car makes 264 whp on the DD dyno. BTW not even a cel. Hope this will help...

I'm a big fan of the Buschur Staged upgrades, IMO i think they are the best and they are some really great guys. I hear good things about vishnu though, in the end i think it comes down to personal preferrence, just make sure you know what your looking for.

That seems a bit expensive for the power it makes. I've got a Buschur 3" turbo-back exhaust with Magnaflow muffler and high-flow cat. Cost was about $900. I added a Buschur air filter for $80 (mostly for the cool sound!). I took the car to TurboTrix in New Jersey. They added a Hallman MBC for $80, including installation. Then they did a custom ECU reflash with dyno tuning for $450 complete.

The car made about 230 hp at the wheels stock. If you assume the car makes 271 at the crank as advertized, you end up with around 15% driveline loss...which is about what you'd expect.

The TurboTrix guys set the MBC to peak at 21psi (but it quickly tapers down to 19psi and stays there to redline). After several ECU flashes and dyno pulls, we ended up with 287 hp at the wheels. This gives you about 340 hp at the crank assuming the same 15% driveline loss. More importantly, there's a nice smooth power and torque curve.

The car feels factory and delivers seamless power all the way to redline. It actually drives better than it did stock. Total cost was about $1500, including 3" turbo-back, intake, MBC, and custom ECU reflash. Not bad at all.

If you have the cash, you cant beat Vishnu. Excellent quality, fitment and customer service. Just remember, all of that excellence comes with a hefty price tag.

Dude that was on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno. No comparison between the Dynojet and a Dyno Dynamics. A stock evo will only put out 180 hp on a DynoDynamics. So you cant compare. The Vishnu stage 1+ would be awesome for you. They make more hp with fewer parts than anyone I have seen. And you dont have the hassel of a stand alone. Then plan on going with a good clutch. Get a ATS dual plate carbon clutch. They are awesome. Cost is pretty steep but will last forever and drive very easy. But Vishnu are a great company. Other than them I would consider AMS. When you consider that all these other tuners have to go with a stand alone to make all that power (EXPENSIVE) you cant beat Vishnu.

And by the way my friend with 1+ made 340 awhp on a dynojet ( it might of been 360 but not sure so I will go with the lower number) with just xede, xede flash, catless turbo back, 272 - 272 combo with cam gears and a RMR intercooler on race gas.

I voted no because:

I have:
HKS RS Intake 275
Megan Downpipe 150
Cat Delete 50-180 (I paid 180 to get the O2 sim)
Custom Catback 265
Flash (NOT Dynoflash) 200

That's almost 1200 dollars with taxes and labors included.

On a dyno that stock EVOs dyno around 215-220 I dynoed 292 w/AF ratio at 9:1.

I have since gotten a reflash to bring it up to around 11.5 hopefully. I will redyno on Sept. 26th. I am expecting about 310. For 1200 bucks. Interesting.

Why blow your money on a "package?" On the highway I am running with or outrunning guys with Vishnu Stage 1 plus cams!

Lets see some timeslips with trap speeds. Where was this flash done? Oh and by the way that dyno chart was 347 uncorrected awhp. So around 380 awhp corrected was what he got.

Flash was done by TurboTrix. I'm really not concerned with what your friend did. My story wasn't for you.
