yeah the search bar knows.

but no really... Alot of guys are recently going back to stock Diaqueen fluids in the diffs. The tranny is another story. Pennzoil Synchromesh, BG Synchroshift, GM Synchrmesh, Redline MT-90, etc.

To this guys credit, there are soooo many topics out there than it's very tough to get a definite answer.

I am doing Pennzoil Syncromesh in the tranny. (I originally bout BG Syncroshift, but I later found out it's the stock stuff.) As for the diffs, I am hesitant about running Redline because it seems to eat up more things than it helps.... so I'm waiting on that.

So that's what my current stock plans are.

Im using BG Synchroshift in the tranny and Redline Shockproof HEAVY in the Transfer Case and Rear Dif. Will see how it works i guess.

Redline MT-90 in the tranny and either stock SAE90 or Royal Purple SAE90 in the transfer case and rear diff. People with Redline problems were/are putting the wrong fluid in the car. You have to select the proper product, whichever brand you go with.

Out of curoisity, did the bottle of pennzoil syncromesh that you used have the weight listed on it. I recently changed my tranny fluid, and the bottle I used had no weight or GL rating listed on it, but according to the tech line it was good to go for the Evo.

I dunno, its been in there for about 1000 miles and everything seems to be working fine, but I just wanted to make sure I didnt get the wrong type fluid.

I have been running GM synchromesh in the tranny w/o problems and it shifts so much better.

After searching and reading many threads that confused me on the TC and rear diff fluids, I decided on OEM fluids for my next change. You can't go wrong. Diaqueen LSD gear oil. $60 for a 4 liter can from my dealer.
