whats a good upper intercooler pipe...
www.teamdmotorsports.com has an awesome uic pipe. check out the site
wonder if they make a lower i/c pipe, that's all I lack. as for using a mr diverter valve with uic piping I would suggest just having a piece of metal tube coming off of the pipe with no flange on it and just using a bit of silicone coupling to connect the diverter valve to it. the flange of the mr valve actually has a rubber gasket built into it and if you take your mr valve apart you will see that it woudn't be a fun job to recreate this flange. just my 2 cents.
meraz and money. those two are characters. i wonder if i popped in if they would even remember me. its been a long long time.
mitsuorder is right though, youd need just a pipe sticking out. easy enough to do im sure. either way the greddy pipe looks to be the best bet for what im looking for.

As some of you know we bought another new EVO8. I have been working on new parts for it.
I have a few finished but some won't be released until we sell out of what we currently have.
I have built a DROP IN MAS pipe. Works with our airfilter kit, stock battery and stock upper i/c pipe or for that matter anyone's stock routed i/c pipe. I have been driving this car for about 300 miles so far and haven't noticed so much as a twitch in the driveability. I know many of you complain that the car idles bad after a MAS pipe change. This was part of the new design, to eliminate that. We changed the bend design and the mounting for the BOV return tube. The pipe can easily be changed to be used with the EMS (speed density) and can have a big 9" long cone filter installed in place of the MAS and air filter kit. Prices are no set on this yet. It should be a good $25 less than our normal pipe, maybe as much as $50 less. ($150-$175)
Also have built a new upper i/c pipe kit. The new pipe uses the stock battery, stock MAS pipe or ours and eliminates 3 bends from the system. The kit starts at the aluminum portion of the factory pipe and goes to the throttle body. The lower part of that pipe isn't worth the expense and time to replace if you want to keep the stock battery in there and aren't going to shorten it considerably. The one on our car now uses the stock BOV, I am going to probably offer a good aftermarket valve with it, like the Forged. The 1G with our adapter may fit, haven't tried it yet. Pricing on this is not set yet either. I have to use a different company to bend these than we usually do. The throttle body bend is tight.

We have a couple different options for the Upper IC pipe.
All pipes are made in 304 polished SS and use a short path.
UIP fits stock Battery $300
UIP fits slim Battery $250
PM or email me if you need some pics of both units.

id be interested in seeing the upper buschur pipe. sounds similar to the greddy one (their price is $179)
seeing as how the stock bov and the mr dv are similar im sure it would work well with my plans.
the mr dv and the 1gen look the same... does anyone know if theres any difference?

OK... what about the best Upper IC pipe for the stock intake.. since changing the intake only causes the need for more changes and is now sucking hot air.. no kit fits with the stock airbox? what about the Perrid IC pipe with the stock airbox?
I just bought this full IC pipe kit kit for $382: http://www.evo8.com/?page=shop/flypa...2c7357a8387dcb
It is a complete IC piping kit that includes upper and lower IC pipes, with clamps and couplings. It is claimed to work with the stock air box. I will report when I get it installed around the end of the month. If it fits as claimed, it's a winner for those of us who don't want to run cone filters.

AFAIK, there is a bit of power (maybe 6-7whp) to be gained with a better flowing lower IC arrangement and somewhat less from a better upper. It is my understanding however that even a swizzle stick straw IC pipe set would provide plenty enough power to shamelessly crush any torqueless economy car...
We have a new upper i/c pipe built, waiting to have it copied. The pipe replaces the crappy upper rubber portion. Retains the stock battery and will work with the stock mas pipe or our new mas pipe, I would also think it will work with any other aftermarket mas pipe currently out there. The pipe can use the stock bov, our 1g bov with our adapter or any other stock style replacement valve (Forged or MR valve). The pipe has three less bends than stock and is built from polished 304 SS.
