Dyno today.......unhappy

i just lef our AWD dynojet....

80 degrees outside
93 octane
24 psi

355 whp 309 ft lbs

Stage 4 Buschur
BR 500
Dynoflash

a/f was all overe the place 11-1 at 4000 rpms and then dropped to 10-8 10-7 around 6000 rpms and was getting eveen richer as it neared redline, and the more runs we did the richer and richer it was getting each run. I just got custom tuned sat and was surprised how it was so sparatic. The only differnece was 94 octane before. So from the looks of this i will not be racing Sat. it was somehting i was looking foreward too for a while know, but i will just be a spectator this weekend. Very very upset, but what can i do. David Buschur is doing everything to help and I cant thank him and his team there for the technical support and customer service. It is deffinately top notch in this business. Dave said he has a feeling i may have gotten the wrong turbo or there may be a technical issue, and i totally trust him and his reasonings. And once again, he is VERY willing to help out a customer no matter how many other projects he is working on. thanks so much!!

Typically if a flat fuel curve is programmed, it will begin getting richer near redline because the engine is becoming progressively less mechanically efficient. In any case, I don't know (yet) how sensitive these engines are to small changes A/F, but judging by your comments, the fuel curve may need reprogramming.

If this particular program is *absolutely* known to be very close to dead-***** on with other cars using the exact same configuration, it could be indicative of a mechanical problem that is compromising your VE.

24psi is quite a lot for 93 octane.

i didnt notice any boost leaks, we did a 27.5 psi run on c-16 that yelided 412whp, but thats too much boost, i didnt feel even with that much boost and race feul, i should be near 460-480whp...something is not functioning properly with my setup. Im sure we will find the problem soon enough. thanks guys.

And just to clarify, this is on the stock turbo? I'm new to the 4G63 and would like to know what the turbo can push as far as max boost and so forth. I had a 1.8T GTI with a KKK-03 sport and it would push 12-13 at redline with 25 psi spikes. I definately need a boost gauge for my new EVO but haven't gathered the funds as of yet. So, can someone please tell me how much this bad boy can safely push at redline and what max boost would be?

no, he was using the br500 turbo from buschur racing. as far as stock turbos go, i've read 400whp is about the max you can go with it. i dont' know if that's on race gas, or built bottom, or if a stroker kit would do anything....

stock turbo maxes out at like 25 or 26psi i think? i keep reading different things... just putting that out there as a pretty specific ballpark figure.

anyway, back on topic:

i had thought a flash when you get to that level of tuning is very bad for the car??
