Stock BOV in backwards.....does it really matter?

I have my stock bov in backwards and it flutters.....ive had it like this for a while because when i installed my k&n intake, the instructions showed to install it in this position. My question is does it hurt the car if it is in backwards?

It hurts the driveability of the car. I installed mine backwards once, and the car kicked when I got off the throttle like it did with the Forge BOV. I switched it to the correct intallation and the car was smooth again.

Mine used to kick when i would let off the throttle and i noticed that my vacum hose was bent a bit and i thought that the air was getting cut off......so i replaced it with a longer one and after that it ran pretty smooth.......But since the bov is backwards, is the pressure being blown off into the wrong pipe?
