Strange Exhaust Fumes

**uhh.. ignore the "stange" It's early, i can't spell for $h!t.

Hey guys, Last night my exhaust started to smell pretty bad after a 30 mile drive. I didnt notice the smell in the car, but when i opened the door you can smell it. I have a stock exhaust. It smells like rotten eggs, kinda, just not as strong. I'm probably going to take it to the dealership because its still under warranty and everything, but i'd like to hear some possible ideas on what it can be from you guys first. Thanks.

Rotten eggs = cat. I'm guessing it's relatively new? If so, don't waste yours and the dealer's time.

oops, i read wrong, i thought you meant the exhaust is relatively new (like after market). Sorry. I have about 9200 miles. I just oil changed it like 3 days ago too.

Could be a number of things. A bad battery can have a nasty smell, too, and you almost certainly wouldn't notice it unless it was really about to die, while you were in the car. Leaky exhaust is certainly another option. Either way, funky smells shouldn't be coming out of your car. Also, that oil change being the last thing that was done, that'd probably be a good place to look for a problem. Could be something spilled, or got knocked loose, whatever, and is getting burned off the engine.

Yeah my cat reeks like a **** from time to time. Most likely because of my 3in downpipe is killing my stock cat. I'm bewildered on why your stock exhaust is reeking though. Maybe a defective cat? Sounds like an excuse to replace the whole thing w/ a nice 3in turboback.
