Enkei wheel...

Today i just checked my tires and stuff to see if everything was in good shape, and when i checked my back right wheel, the damn enkei was partly scuffed and scatched. I never hit a curb or anything before, only had the car about a month and the tire is in perfect conditition. What can I do? I mean its not really noticeable, but I know its there and to me it looks like shiet stain. Can I take it to the dealer and get it checked out and maybe it was in fact like that from the factory and i just never noticed. Anyway, if they act like fools and dont help me out, what is there I can do? Does shops repair deep wheel scratches or scuff marks?

there are always people here on EvoM selling their stock wheels you might do a search and see if anyone has them for sale I'm sure prices here would be way better than at a dealer.. as far as fixing them you could check with a couple shops it would depend on how bad it was damaged.

there's also a how-to in the how-to section that might help if the scrape isn't too bad.

and, just so you know, the dealership will charge you $550 for a new wheel.

hmm, but it was my first time thoroughly checking each rim, when i washed the car i mean i prob didnt see it. It could came from the factory so tomorrow im goign to take it in and if they dont replace it im goign to call the bbb and jd power associates because i am very sure that the scuff mark was already there before. I remember talking to the guy who sold me the car, while he was putting my tags on i noticed a scuff mark on the driver side door on the bottom, and i asked him if he can remove it and he was like i dont know and etc jus trying to sell me the damn car very quickly. If they try to blame me for going on a curb or something i have proof because if so the tire woulda been scuffed more than the enkei but the tires are in perfect condition. Also Ive only had the car for about a month with only 2000 miles on it. I just got my buschur turboback installed to, when i take my car in for them to look at the scuff mark do u think they will say shiet bout the exhaust and not ttry to help me with the wheel.

Right rear wheel huh...Did you ever parallel park at one point? This is what the dealer is going to tell you. Even if you didn't think you did it , the dealer will blame it on you anyways.

To them it doesn't matter who you call to complain about. Mitsus going down in here Noth America. As you can see with most warrantee issues in this site.
Speaking of warrantee...Don't go in the dealership with your exhaust. They'll put a red flag on you.

As for your scuff...your tire looked fine because last time you washed it you never saw the scuff. So the next time you checked it ... your tire was clean and the scuff stood out.

If the scuff isn't that bad like you described...just live with it.

i feel bad about the scuff, but youre wasting your time. there is a chance that you might have caused the scuff yourself without noticing it or a hater did it(dont know why they would pick the wheel though), but even if it was a defect from the factory, it's really up to you to notice it before the delivery of the car. Once you sign the dotted line, you pretty much state that you like what you see. Too bad the warranty doesnt cover scuffed wheels.

thanks for the replies people, i see what you guys are saying. I guess I will try my best to get them to replace it 8- ) It wasnt my first time washing it, bout my 3rd time, jus that i never thoroughly looked at my wheels. I liked the way the evo was before i took it out of the parking lot. But i remmeber there was arleady a scuff mark on the drivers side on the bottom of the door panel right when u open the door. it was noticeable but i didnt really care much, and i remember that the guy said he didnt know what i can do or who i can talk to, to take that scuff mark out, so til this day that shiet is still there. As for the wheel, maybe it was like that, but the fact of the matter that the stupid sales guy didnt help me with that scuff mark earlier and etc, it makes me even more **** now that i see that shiet on my enkei, ima kick his ***. But anyway ill let yall know what happens tomorrow 8- ) Ill prob end up cursing that fat michael moore look a like service manager again and somehow get my problem fixed like i did last time for my ralliart 8- ) If not, there has to be places around where i stay that can help me out and sand down the wheel and rebuff it out so itll loook new i hope

I scuffed one of mine at one point. I knew it happened right when I did it too. I took a turn too sharp and just grazed the curb. I knew there was no way that sidewall stuck out enough to save the rim. I was instantly pissed but there was nothing I could do except be more careful.

Of course then, a tire shop scraped all 4 while putting on new tires. So, I made them replace them with new Enkeis.

the dealer is gonna laugh at you. there not gonna believe that you didnt do it. anyway, if you have to fix it take it to a local body shop and they can do it. I scraped one of mine some time ago and paid 100 bucks and now it looks brand new again. just my 2 cents.

yep, u guys were sure right, they didn't want to change my wheel. As for the exhaust, they liked the idea that i changed it to buschur racing turboback LOL they didnt say crap about the exhaust and told me it wont void the warranty. But, since the wheel was only scuffed and is very minor, a guy that comes to the dealer and fixes wheels can help me fix it for like 30-40 bucks or so. Which i don't mind because the wheel is perfect, just that gay *** scuff mark makes it stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks for the advice guys, i thought my dealer was goign to be really gay and void wouldn't even help me with my enkei and void my warranty because of the exhaust!

its just a scuff mark, dont get all **** over it. Now if you have a bent rim, thats when you should get all worked up about it. I have this problem, but i blame myself for running over a huge frickin rock that was in the middle of the freeway. Damn those Ca. freeways!
