Oct 4 new info on '05's

taken from another forum

Hi Everyone,

FYI -

I just came back from Port Hueneme (near Oxnard, CA) - most all new Mitsubishis come through this Port, including all Evos (for Western States). If anyone has any questions regarding the new '05 Evos, please let me know? I basically saw four Evo models there: RS, base regular Evo, Evo w/leather & sunroof pkg., & the MR. The vast majority of Evos there were the MR. MR colors there: new dark gray metallic, white, red, & silver. There were probably more than 100 MRs, maybe more! That Vortex thing on the roof isn't standard, it's part of some package that's installed there at the Port; it just goes on the roof with double-sided tape! The MR's MSRP is low $34K. None of the MRs there had the ugly, cheap looking accessory gauges installed - yet. They're part of an $800 option pkg.: Vortex generator, alum. shift knob, carbon fiber handbrake cover, & the aforementioned gauge pkg. The MR doesn't share the trunk brace that's standard in the RS. The base regular Evo no longer comes standard w/HIDs (no more manual leveling control either w/std. Halogens), or fogs - they're now part of the sunroof/leather pkg. (+3K) It does, however, have front LSD as standard, along with ACD. RS also gets ACD, and the aluminum roof panel is shared with the MR, but no Vortex generator option. Red & white appear to still be the only two colors for the RS. All RSs there had a $570 option pkg.: aluminum shift knob, pedal covers, boost gauge; it wasn't yet installed either.

Just wanted to share this information with you all and I hope that you guys/gals out there in Evo Land find it at least somewhat informative?

Later,

Mase (aka Orbit)

thanks for all the info herbal!!! by any chance... would you be able to figure where these Evo's are headed? I'm just curious to where the higher concentration levels of evos will be... here at the DMV, i haven't really seen many MCO's submitted by dealerships to declare the vehicles

As an FYI, not all cars are coming into Oxnard or Tacoma. My car is apparently coming into the port in Baltimore around the 18th.

No HID's....holy smokes that is scary....now we have to worry about the 03-04 models getting jacked for the headlights........since new ones will not have them....
