i have an MR, i previously owned a 04 sti and couldn't see myself going from a 6speed to a 5speed, so when the chance came up i bought my 06 MR used, and less then a year later with 485hp and 435tq on tap my transmission is good to go with no issues(knock on wood) if you abuse your ride you will eventually break it, if you take care of her she will do you right.

One minor mod the mr has is the lighter roof versus the gsr. Its nice, and actually quite a bit lighter than the ssl roof.

Spending the extra money saved on aftermarket parts will outweigh the benefits that factory can provide.

I would for sure save the money upfront because I pay CASH for all my cars. If I were to fall into the lure of finance, I'd go for the MR. But I'm to pragmatic for that!

I love my IX MR. 161,000 miles, countless launches, autocrosses, daily beating, and it's still as strong as the day I got it.
