the best person to answer this question is a MR owner who thinks whether it is worth it or not and not a GSR/RS owner who wished they had the MR

+1 The first gear on the MR becomes useless if you mod the car at all.

^'Tis true.

No regrets with my MR. I do, however, feel the best USDM Evo is the "GSR" SE.

that is true but don't forget that the fifth gear of the MR will blow you away up to its top speed than a 5 speed regular evo.

I don't think the extra dough is really worth more than bragging rights. However, I do drive my car extensively on long drives, with my girlfriend, and she would have killed me by now if I didn't have that extra gear... With the HKS RS and a TBE, it's loud enough with the 6 speed.

If you want to race it only, go with the RS, if you want to drive it on the highway, go with the MR. If you can't make up your mind, buy the Evo with the SSL package.

Just my 2 psi.

ACD and 6-speed on an MR is not worth the money, but then some people have the money

I love my SE, all the joys of the MR but with the closer 5 speed transmission.

I will say this, I would have gone with an MR if I knew my commute was going to be so long, that tall 6th gear sure would help me save some gas.

i think the mr edition is worth it. they say that the 6 speed tranny is weaker than the five speed, but honestly if your not dragging your car..who cares. the mr seems to be better for everyday people looking for alittle bit more of a daily driven car. i drive an 06 rs, but i wouldn't mind having an mr edition. plus you have to love the hid lights just my 2 cents gentlemen.

the six speed mr actually doesn't save that much on gas. its just keeps the rpms down when your going 70 plus on the highway. that is about my only complaint about my rs.

If you can get one for a good price then go for it. I love my 6 speed but I am afraid to track it!
